Makeup For Green Eyes
Women with green eyes may have a limited range of make up colors that they can use. Many women with green eyes have very fair skin and some green-eyed women have freckles. This can make choosing makeup challenging for women with green eyes.
Should Women With Green Eyes Use Green Eye Shadow?
The only actual color that is off limits for women with green eyes is generally green eye makeup. Using a color that matches your eyes can make you look washed out. If you like using green eye makeup, limit it to just liners.
Lots of women with green eyes, fair skin, and freckles, try to cover the freckles up. I don’t know what makes women shun their freckles. I think they’re cute, but, then again, I don’t have any, so what do I know.
Some great make up ideas for green eyes include using just about any color from the brown family. Try chocolate browns, taupes and beiges. Stay away from heavy looks, especially if you have fair skin.
Start With A Great Canvas
Makeup for green eyes should be muted and well blended. Start with a good foundation. I recommend foundation for every woman. I think it just gives you a good, smooth canvas to work with.
The Complete Look
After applying foundation, set it with a dusting of loose powder. These powders come in many colors these days so you can find one that matches your foundation. Take care of any contouring after you apply your foundation. Women with green eyes and fair skin can usually benefit from a bit of contouring along the bridge of the nose. And because women with green eyes tend to have fair hair, it helps to fill in the eyebrows to give the eyes a more defined look.
Choose your eye makeup shade and brush it over the lid. I like to choose colors from the brown family or maybe even matte grey makeup colors for brown eyes. Shimmery eye shadows should be avoided if you have very fair skin other than a bit of highlighter under the brow bone.
Keep It Simple
Because they often have color due to their fair skin, women with green eyes often ask me how to put on makeup. There’s no mystery to it. Just keep it simple. Dramatic looks on you should be reserved for special occasions and night wear. You just can’t generally get away with too much during the day.
Remember to cover the lid with shadow up to and into the crease. I suggest avoiding too much liner and maybe even keeping the use of mascara to the upper lashes only. If you need to use mascara on your lower lashes due to the light colored lashes that many green-eyed women have, try using a dark brown instead of black. It will make your eyes look less harsh.
Finish your makeup for green eyes with a light dusting of peach blush and a neutral lip. Keeping it simple is the key for doing makeup for green eyes. Too much makeup and really dark colors are likely to make you look seriously overdone and garish.
